The Town of Transcona was founded in 1911 during the construction of the Transcona Railway Shops by the Grand Trunk Pacific and National Transcontinental railways. Today, the Transcona Historical Museum and Archives collects, documents, preserves, and communicates information regarding the people, places, and events that have shaped the development of the community.
